iChildCare is the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) individual portal for child care applicants, licensees, employees, household members, and individuals interested in entering the child care field. It provides access to and information regarding background checks required for individuals who interact with children in regulated child care settings in Wisconsin.

Any entity that is not a WI child care agency regulated by DCF is strictly prohibited from utilizing this system, or making background check results obtained through this system a requirement for admissions, employment, residency, etc… unless otherwise authorized by DCF. Misuse of this system will result in any offending party’s access being revoked and may also result in the offending party or parties not being eligible to hold a license or certificate to operate, reside at or be employed at a child care center, and that you may be subject to forfeitures and other sanctions as provided by law.
